You Can Be Part of Fleadh Cheoil Na hEireann 2015 too!

Last years Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann was an astonishing success!. This was in a large part due to the outstanding contribution of our volunteers – from the street ambassadors who welcomed our visitors, to our volunteers who cleaned the streets, marshalled the campsites, were stewards at the competitions and filled countless other roles, to all of them we owe an enormous debt of gratitude

In August 2015 Sligo will welcome over 350,000 visitors to the Fleadh Cheoil Na hEireann, the world’s largest traditional music festival, and we want you to be part of this great event. Whether you love traditional Irish music or just want to help Sligo show its best face to the world, we have a role for you to play.

Fleadh Cheoil, literally means “feast of music”, and with over 15,000 musicians taking part in competition and workshops over the course of the Fleadh, we will need your help in organizing this exciting weeklong feast of entertainment and family fun. Sessions, marching bands, competitions, ceili bands, concerts, singing, street music, exhibitions and the arts are just some of the different parts that go into making the Fleadh the biggest celebration of Irish culture in the world.

By signing up to be a volunteer and helping all our Fleadh visitors enjoy this great traditional music festival in beautiful Sligo you can help make Sligo’s Fleadh the best Fleadh ever!

The key to the success of the Fleadh in Sligo will be the voluntary work of those who wish to help use this opportunity to showcase Sligo and Irish Music to the world. Volunteer work covers a wide range, from marshalling and stewarding at venues to simply providing information or directions to visitors as a Fleadh Street Ambassador. Full details can be found within our Volunteer Application form.

It is estimated that we will need over 1,000 volunteers to ensure that that Sligo can look back with pride on its Fleadh. So whether you can offer only a few hours or maybe even more, you are invited to complete a Volunteer Application Form.

Full training will be provided to volunteers. If you require any further information please email or just input your details online.
